History of Digital Photography
Development of Digital Photos

Today’s generation won’t believe
that digital photography doesn’t exist before.
We are so get used to it till we can’t afford to live without it anymore.

Nevertheless, the history of digital photography starts not a long time ago.

In fact, it began just a little over a decade ago.

With current fast moving technology, who knows what is going to happen next? At least, you can appreciate what the older generation had gone through thus far by understanding the history of digital photography.

It Began From The Screen

Initially I don’t believe, but the truth is the history of digital photography began back in 1950s where television first created. Since then, the technology used to build the television has since played a major role in developing other technology which includes digital camera first appearance.

Both video Tape Recorder (VTR) technology and Charged Coupled Devices (CCDs) were completely strange back in 1950s but the history of digital photography began since then.

Outer Space

Space industry is also responsible in developing the digital camera as well. In 1960s, NASA’s scientists had conducted research that affects the history of digital photography. That time, the US government is using digital imaging for their spy satellites. Without this development, the history of digital photography would probably not exist.

The Technology Timeline

It was in 1981 where Sony had come to an idea of developing a digital camera. At that time, most seasoned photographers do not consider it as the true digital camera due to the fact that it took video freeze frames.

However, it really helped to stimulate other inventions which then contribute to the history of digital photography.

Later in 1991, Kodak managed to release the first ever digital camera for professional photographers. The model was Nikon F-3 that was equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel sensor.

Back then, it was a historic moment in the history of digital photography. The Kodak DC40 which first released in 1995 was the first digital camera meant for public consumers.

Putting Together The Puzzle

Although it took some time to set the foundation up for digital camera development, the technology has evolved very quickly since the first one ever released in 1991. As you can see, no doubt that the digital cameras have had a very rich history past.
